If you don’t know the branch Elseworlds from DC, you are about to discover a wonderful world of the craziest alternative universes. Being technical, it is a DC Comics publishing imprint that is dedicated to publishing stories from the universe in times and places without being forced to respect the main continuity. Its equivalent in Marvel Comics is What if…? or What would happen if…?
These alternative and self-contained stories were very famous during the 80s and 90s and had the DC trinity as their main protagonists: Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Now the company has announced with a spectacular trailer the return of Elseworlds in 2024.
There will be a total of six stories that are distributed between June and November of this year. Batman is the most recurring character in this wave, although Green Lantern has also seen his name in one of the titles. Below you have a list of the titles and the month they will be available.
- Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age (June) dedicated to a 19th century Batman.
- Dark Knights of Steel: All-Winter (July) dedicated to Deathstroke with a Viking vibe.
- DC vs. Vampires: World War V (August), which has vampires as its main theme.
- Batman: The Barbarian (September) dedicated to Batman in a medieval setting
- Green Lantern: Dark (October) dedicated to reinventing the character of Green Lantern in a dark and apocalyptic fantasy setting.
- Batman: Nightfire (November) dedicated again to Batman and trips to the past. You can imagine where it goes…
In short, lovers of Elseworlds From DC they have a 2024 full of interesting stories ahead of them, especially if they are interested in the Dark Knight. Personally, I think I’ll choose to follow Batman: The Barbarian and Dark Knights of Steel: All-Winter. And you?
