The good news is that people are hungry for hitting things virtually, and one of the many events celebrating Minecraft’s 15th anniversary can satisfy that need. Especially if you enjoy being with Barney in the upcoming Minecraft movie, at least to some extent.
This isn’t the only event celebrating the anniversary, there’s also an option to claim 500 free Minecoins, as well as 15 days of new character creator items designed to represent “different years of Minecraft history.” Because, you know, block games today are basically like a small country in terms of the depth of lore and legacy.

Anyway, back to the good stuff. The Easter egg I’m talking about is a widget that currently pops up if you search for “Minecraft” through the Chrome browser. If you click on the square, your cursor will turn into Steve’s square arm, allowing you to punch the search results because they are a tree and you will be killed in the game because you need wood and night is coming comes, and you don’t want to end up going back to bedwetting.
By clicking on each search result, you’ll smash them apart to reveal small, chunky shots of the game’s multiple worlds. It was a very funny 30 seconds, as these things often do. I’m glad you’re here, though, because I’m going to tell you how to make it fun for a few minutes.
You see, the Wikipedia entry for the upcoming Minecraft movie (if it doesn’t show up, the movie’s IMBD page is another option) – no doubt at least fine, since Jack Black is in it – is the search One of the results appears a little further down the page. So, you can hit the Minecraft movie, causing it to become corrupted, and then you can reload the page, reactivate the widget, and knock out its blocks again.
By the way, that’s the second round, so things can keep going until you think you’ve won the knockout round. Maybe give yourself a cheeky little slap every round to simulate the Minecraft movie – or Hollywood in general – fighting back.
Disclaimer: iGamesNews certainly does not recommend that people hit themselves, so especially if you are a child, say the word “hit” out loud.
Maybe a few rounds in between at Cambridge University, which came into being because it helped create the Mincraft mini-game to teach young people English. Go into the wild. No one can stop you.
you’re free.
