Switch Now Finished Wii Life Sales In Japan

Change the Wii

Nintendo Switch had the most successful week in Japan last week, converting 392,576 large units according to Famitsu data. This puts the console at an estimated 12.8 million sales in its short-term, meaning that Nintendo's latest machine has just reached a new milestone.

As seen by industry analyst Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad, this impressive figure actually puts Switch ahead of the powerful Wii in Japan. In addition to being dominated by the Wii worldwide in gaming, the system only changed 12.7 million units to the Nintendo world, with sales volume coming from the US and throughout Europe.

After all, Wii's global health sales value is still far from the switch. Wii managed to complete 101.63 million sales during its time on the market, the latest switchch figures stand at 52.48 million. That number came in January of this year, however, the total hybrid value will naturally be slightly higher in this category. Hitting the Wii seems to happen if Nintendo supports Switch in the coming years.

Last week's entry into the sale of Toych's hardware looks like it was caused by a Animal Crossing fever epidemic hitting the nation; the game also broke many records in its opening weekend. New releases Coral Switch Lite it wouldn't hurt, either.

Think switchch will one day be the best-selling console on Nintendo worldwide, before the Wii? Share your thoughts with us below.
