It’s a game that passed without generating too much noise among the console gaming community, perhaps it was more successful on PC. Crytek’s big bet did not turn out to be the expected success, and that is why they are betting everything on a new update of the game that promises a big change.

The new update will include new maps, an overhaul of the game’s entire weapon balancing and matchmaking, and some new additional content to keep you excited for that PVP multiplayer. Also They will review the reward system and progression in the game.

Goodbye support for old consoles

The problem is that this update also includes an engine change, now Cryengine 5.11 to represent better graphics and overall performance and of course, this version of the engine is already incompatible with older machines from Microsoft and Sony respectively.

Crytek promised that Xbox One and PS4 players will be able to transfer their accounts to the new Xbox Series and PS5 consoles respectively. They also report that the update will arrive on August 15, so there’s still time to continue playing the game in the meantime. Either way, if you want to continue playing, you’ll need to upgrade to one of the new platforms.
