It was time. Netflix has finally given us our first official look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in Season 4 of The Witcher.
In October 2022, Henry Cavill announced his departure from the Netflix series The Witcher to don the Superman cape. His plans ultimately didn’t come to fruition as the British actor was pushed out of the new DCU in favor of someone younger. Despite fans’ requests and petitions with hundreds of thousands of signatures, nothing happened. Netflix remains true to its position and it is Liam Hemsworth who will take on the role of Geralt until the end of The Witcher series. After a few stolen photos, the streaming giant finally decides to release a first official preview.

The pressure is enormous, but the teams are confident. Since the announcement of Henry Cavill’s replacement, his former comrades have tried to reassure the most worried viewers. Liam Hemsworth put his heart and soul into preparing to take on the role of the White Wolf. The little brother of Thor from the MCU has been undergoing intensive physical training and studying the entire story of The Witcher in recent months. However, this month the seriousness of things began with the start of filming for the fourth season. A few stolen photos provided a glimpse of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, but we finally have the right to the first official images. And no, it probably won’t be the catastrophe that all the deepfakes and montages circulating have predicted.

Liam Hemsworth is therefore expected to make his debut sometime in 2025 with the fourth season of The Witcher. He will have two seasons to prove himself, after which the series will officially end. One thing is certain: the end of the Netflix adaptation will cause division. The reactions are clearly divided, some fans are pleasantly surprised, others continue to complain about Henry Cavill’s departure.
