One UI 6.1 is the latest version of Samsung’s custom layer for its mobile phones and tablets. The most important novelty of this update is the arrival of Galaxy AI, a series of artificial intelligence functions which includes Circle to Search, real-time call translation, instant slow motion, and AI tools for image and video editing, among others.
In principle, these AI features arrived with the Galaxy S24 family of phones, but Samsung has already updated many devices to One UI 6.1. Not all mobile phones and tablets benefit from the same AI functions; In fact, some devices don’t benefit from any AI functionality at all, largely due to their hardware limitations. If One UI 6.1 has arrived on your Samsung Galaxy, below is how to tell if you have AI features.
Follow these steps to find out if your Samsung Galaxy mobile or tablet has received Galaxy AI
Samsung has already updated many devices to the new version of One UI, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy A54, Galaxy S21, and the fifth, fourth, and third generation Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip foldables. Depending on the model, its hardware capabilities, and its age in the market, some benefit from more AI features than others. The less powerful, however, are left without Galaxy AI.
Fortunately, One UI 6.1 doesn’t just include artificial intelligence featuresbut also other interface improvements, including more system and lock screen customization options, new tools for editing images and videos and more widgets, among other new features.
Not all Samsung Galaxys receive the same AI features, some don’t, but other new features of One UI 6.1
But if you want to know if your phone has received Galaxy AI features, there are two ways to do so, before and after the update.
How to know if your mobile receives AI functions before updating:
By downloading the new software update, the screen with the changes will mention that it includes Galaxy AI:
The image above is of a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at the time of the update. The Galaxy S23 family of devices are among the devices that receive all the Galaxy AI features, the same as those available on the Galaxy S24.
However, as we’ve already mentioned, other devices don’t include AI features, or may only include some. Then we can see in this image shared by SamMobile a screen of the update changes a Samsung Galaxy device that will only receive the Surround to Search feature.
By checking the information on this screen, you can see if and what AI features you receive before upgrading to One UI 6.1. But this screen with information about changes made to the new version of the operating system (called “changelog”) shows only the largest and most important changes. If you want to check exactly which AI features you received, you can do it after updating.
How to know if your mobile received AI features after updating to One UI 6.1:
After downloading and installing the update to One UI 6.1, the system settings menu will add new sections related to AIas long as you have Galaxy AI features.
It’s important to note that Samsung doesn’t call these features “artificial intelligence,” but rather “artificial intelligence.”advanced intelligence“. To check what AI features we have, follow these steps:

- Then we select Advanced intelligence
In this section we will not only be able to confirm the AI functions available for our Samsung Galaxy, but we can also configure themincluding activating or deactivating the ones we want and obtaining more information about each function.
