Armored Core VI: Fire of the Rubicon is unbelievable. But despite some rave reviews and high praise from the very dedicated and very special fan base, it seems like the revival of the mech shooter hasn’t quite made the bigger splash that some were hoping for. But no worry: Elden Ring Director and FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki seems to believe that there is more Armored core to tell stories.

While the latest fast-paced sci-fi shooter helped the long-running series flesh out some of the worlds and boss designs Dark souls And An axe into the mix, Armored Core VI not quite broken into the mainstream, like other, previously more niche series like persona have. Despite this, Miyazaki hinted in a recent interview that he is still proud of the game.

“The Armored core “The series is very important to FromSoftware,” said Miyazaki IGN Japanafter a translation of FandomWire (above GamesRadar). “We have a strong will to continue this in the future. I believe Armored core 6 was a success.” The developer, who helped shape the game’s direction and early planning, said not everything was perfect, suggesting the team wants to continue building on its new direction. “There’s still room for improvement, so I have no intention of stopping there,” he apparently added.

This may seem obvious to some, but Armored core Fans know all too well what it’s like to see one of their favorite franchises shelved and forgotten. Judgment daya direct continuation of Armored Core V on the Xbox 360, released in 2013. It took 10 long years for the series to return, as FromSoftware turned its attention to Dark souls and develop a new formula for action RPGs. It is not impossible to imagine Armored Core VI This is a one-off deal and the team will either return to the Soulsborne formula or develop an entirely new intellectual property.

Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like Miyazaki has that in mind. In the meantime, Elden Ring‘s long-awaited DLC, Shadow of the Earth Treewill be released next month. The director has already said there will be no plans for a Elden Ring 2 or another extensionso whatever comes immediately next for FromSoftware could be something completely new.
