OK. So as part of its corporate strategy meeting, Sony decided to give us a peek into its “creative entertainment vision” – basically what it thinks the world will look like in ten years. What’s the 2034 prediction, you ask? Well, some floating gadgets and an open-world game.
That’s not to say the company isn’t aiming high, though; they’ve even created renders of a game set in 2035 – which is the timeline for this video. I want to stress that we don’t know if this story about a woman flying through space will actually happen in the real world (I’m guessing not).

Yes, if you watch the brief two-minute or so video showing Sony’s vision, you’ll see some interesting stuff. Some people are standing at a futuristic table, manipulating objects suspended in mid-air with their fingers, adding a personal touch to the game I mentioned above – it’s called Ignition, but it’s not a 90s racing game.
Later in the clip, there appears to be a futuristic PlayStation controller for playing the game, while a number of screens with rounded edges are shown. One of the screens is floating, because it represents the future. To me, the controller looks like a ring light with a joystick, although I know that’s what the controller is supposed to be.
Then, near the end, a voiceover talks about tying the story together, and the Horizon Zero Dawn logo—yes, that’s Zero Dawn, not the latest Forbidden West—is projected onto a building with a group of people staring at various machines. Soon after, we enter the Ghostbusters world, complete with slimes and Stay Puft marshmallow men.
It ends with “Creating Infinite Realities”, which I can confirm is a phrase. Overall, I think this is a 7/10 look into the future.
If you’ve been wondering why this is the case, Sony has given the following explanation: “Ten years from now, we will be living in a more multi-layered world where physical and virtual reality overlap without boundaries. If Sony, as a creative entertainment company, fills the world with a new Kando in the future, what kind of experiential value will we provide to achieve this? To explore this question, we conducted a prototyping exercise under the concept of ‘Creative Entertainment Vision’. Through the lens of Sony’s creativity and technology, we presented the future as an extension of the life we live today.”
All right.
