That took a while. After Kingdom Hearts was only available for PC exclusively on Epic Games for three years, the game series is now coming to Steam.
The revival of the Kingdom Hearts series is finally taking the next step. After three years of exclusivity in the Epic Games Store, the series is finally coming to Steam. The first titles will be available from June 13th.
Initially, three titles will be launched, namely Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts 3 including Re Mind DLC.
Unfortunately, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, a rhythm-based game set after the events of the third game, is apparently not part of the agreement.
Let’s hope that the games will also receive proper support for the Steam Deck when they are added to Steam.
A good bridge until Kingdom Hearts 4, which was recently officially announced and is supposedly due to be released in 2025. A video clip confirms the return of Sora, Donald and Goofy, who will experience a new adventure together. Square Enix itself speaks of “an epic new storyline” called the “Lost Master Arc”. Sora has to face a gigantic boss.
The setting will be Quadratum, which in many ways resembles the Japanese metropolis of Tokyo. Square Enix describes Quadratum as a “sprawling city set in a breathtaking, realistic world”; however, it is also said to be a place that has never been seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series.
