Disney CEO Bob Iger and Marvel boss Kevin Feige have spent the last few months acknowledging that Marvel Studios’ recent output has largely fallen short of expectations, and hinting that we’ll see fewer (and more concise) TV shows in the future. However, a (white) Vision series is on the way, and it’s coming to Disney Plus.
Variety broke the shocking news, confirming that the long-gestating idea born from the season finale of WandaVision has not been abandoned or moved on to larger big-screen projects. Despite being hinted at slowing down TV production time and time again, a Vision-centric TV series is moving forward, likely tied to their upcoming film. real want to do.

Marvel has tapped Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas to produce a project for Vision, the droid still played by Paul Bettany. The new series is scheduled to premiere in 2026, but a smooth creative process and really good writing are essential to making it worth our time. Unless there is a creative shakeup that we “really like,” Matalas will serve as the sole showrunner.
If this news is confusing to you (perhaps because you left the MCU after Avengers: Endgame), in WandaVision, Vision is “resurrected” in two different ways: First, by Wanda herself, who created a ghostly version of her in her grieving process. Second, by SWORD, who modified the original Vision’s lifeless body in ways that shouldn’t have been done and resurrected him with a completely “clean” conscience to eliminate Wanda if necessary. WandaVision ends with the two Visions fighting, with the ghost Vision fading away and the “white Vision” leaving with the original Vision’s restored memories to find a new purpose in life.
As you can see, all of this extremely comic books, and the idea of who this new Vision is and how he deals with a past that isn’t his own has some philosophical potential that would be the B-plot for a big movie at the height of the MCU. Understandably, fans and general audiences aren’t terribly excited about this project, but as always, we’re happy to be surprised. Now, we just have the Deadpool vs. Wolverine, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil: Rebirth series to look forward to, all of which show varying degrees of promise.
