You already know that now the screenshots we take of our favorite Xbox games have an expiration date on Micros oft servers. The company has warned that on May 30 it will dispose of a new batch of our catches from the last three months, so we warn you to keep them safe in case you want to keep them.
Microsoft told us that this would happen on May 30, but be careful, it’s already the 28th and it won’t take too long to start this sweep. Remember that you have several ways to ensure their safety, one would transfer all captures to OneDrive and the other would export them all to an external device.
On May 30, a new batch of Xbox screenshots disappears
Due to a new policy coming into effect on October 1, 2023, new and existing captures on the Xbox network will be automatically deleted after 90 days. The first deletions will begin in January 2024. To save gameplay screenshots before they disappear.
As you can read in the quote above, this started at the beginning of the year, every 90 days Microsoft will start this capture scan, so this is the time you have to make your backups. Remember that only those hosted on the Xbox network are deleted, those you have saved locally on your console do not disappear.
