Hypercharge Unboxed Analysis

analysis, Hypercharge, Unboxed

Digital Cybercherries Limited offers us a first and third person action and shooter game in which we will be part of a team that will have to fight several battles to defeat Malo Malísimo.

Like a cross between “Little Warriors” and “Toy Story,” we find toys that come to life and fight their own battles in Hypercharge Unboxed. A shooter game playable in first and third person in which our objective is to defend the hypercore from the attack of the enemy side.

Defend and shoot

Preparing, collecting and taking action is something simple that we will have to do in each of the waves that we will have to face in the levels of Hypercharge Unboxed. Before each wave we will have a few minutes to explore the scene and see where place each of the trapswhich allow us to delay the advance of enemy troops and protect our hypercores.

In order to establish our defenses (we will have 3 different types) we will have to spend a series of coins that we will obtain by eliminating enemies and exploring the level so we will have to be careful not to leave ourselves without any corner. Before each level we can choose 3 defenses from all those we have and as we complete different missions we will increase our arsenal.

This is an easy to control video game that allows us to alternate the view (first and third) according to our needs, in addition to being able to choose the shoulder on which we want the camera to be, which will allow us play with it during gunfights and be able to better protect yourself against enemies.

It is worth remembering that in the game we will face different enemies that will make us move constantly during the level since we will sometimes have to defend more than one zone at a time. We will encounter different types of enemies like destructive and unpredictable spinning tops, soldiers who will descend by parachute, rubber balls that bounce everywhere… the dangers will come from different places, and in some levels we will also have clashes against final bosses .

Game modes and maps

In Hypercharge unboxed We will have varied maps that will allow us to implement different strategies during the waves to overcome. It is worth highlighting the variety of scenarios that we find, equally well represented in terms of scale and visual style, from a toy store to the different parts of a house, these being the most common places where we can find toys. We will have elevated areas that will allow us to see a large part of the map to know where the attack is coming from, as well as cover that will allow us to take a break.

When it comes to gaming we will have 3 different experiences depending on our needs. On the one hand, the option in which we will form our squad of 4 soldiers with the machine that will control the majority of the team members, being for us the option tested throughout the analysis since it was the only possible. On the other hand, the option of fighting the very bad guy with 3 other players in cooperation was impossible since as the game was not released, I did not find any game. Finally, we also have an option focused on the most competitive , in which we will face other players in combat.

Customization and progression

In Hypercharge Unboxed, each time we complete a level we will gain experience based on our performance in combat, starting with if we managed to overcome the main objective of keeping at least one hypercore alive. In order to get more experience we will have to overcome a series of secondary objectives like finding collectibles, defeating enemies in a certain way…

Earning experience points and leveling up will unlock more customization options and unlock defense items in games. As for customization, we can customize the different weapons we have with different skins, as well as the appearance of our figurine and even change the design of the box we come out of every time we start each level.

Technical section and graphics

I found a technically impeccable title since I had no incident related to the performance of the game and no annoying bug that hampered my gaming sessions, on the contrary the title runs at a rocky 60 fps and without any incident whatever the camera mode we choose.

The visual style is attractive and conforms remarkably to this playable proposal, in which the scale of the colonies has also been successfully achieved with the rest of the elements of the storyline to give that feeling of being in a small world.

Conclusions

Hypercharge Unboxed is an action and shooting video game with tower defense elements in which our objective is to survive with our squad of figurines the attack of enemy troops who want to destroy our hypercore. To do this, we will have to best prepare each assault with our defenses and know how to coordinate with the squad to achieve victory.

In the visual section it is a remarkable game with a good recreation of the scenarios of each of the levels and at the same time the scale of each of the toys with the rest of the assets of the level, which is not easy to achieve. It’s a shame that at each level the objectives are the same and that there is variety on that side.
