The new Lords of the Fallen Clash of Champions update adds Boss Rush Trials and Rematches – just in time for the Xbox Game Pass release!
CI Games has released Clash of Champions, a new free update for Lords of the Fallen that throws down the gauntlet to players seeking the ultimate challenge.
The update brings two previously unannounced “Boss Rush” modes to the dark fantasy action RPG. Players can now replay individual boss battles with previously defeated enemies or face them one after the other in one of several grueling trials.
Both modes are playable either in single player mode or with another lamp holder in online co-op multiplayer. The update also includes additional performance improvements. Clash of Champions is available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will launch alongside the debut of Lords of the Fallen on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
The update follows on seamlessly from version 1.5 – Master of Fate, the final part of the Lords of the Fallen post-launch roadmap, which was released in late April.
Master of Fate represented the culmination of over 30 post-launch updates that significantly improved performance, stability, and difficulty balancing across the board, in addition to several extensive content drops. It also introduced an advanced game modification system that allows players to customize various game mechanics (such as the number of enemies, random loot, and upgraded weapons) to make their adventure easier or more difficult, or simply to have an entirely new experience each time they play through.
Accessible through the game’s Vestige checkpoints, Boss Rush modes offer players two distinct experiences: Echoes of Battle and Crucible. While Echoes of Battle allows players to relive their favorite boss encounters like Ellianne the Starved, Congregator of Flesh, and Radiant Guardian, Crucible is a series of six increasingly challenging trials featuring select bosses that must be overcome without dying to unlock rewards, including Shrine currency and exclusive new armor tinctures.
“We’re thrilled to see so many new players exploring the dual worlds of Lords of the Fallen for the first time thanks to the game’s addition to the incredible Game Pass library,” said Saul Gascon, Executive Producer, HEXWORKS. “We’re thrilled to welcome this new wave of lamp-bearers with the surprise release of our ‘Clash of Champions’ update, which includes the brand new Boss Rush mode at the request of our community. These new additions add to the extensive gameplay variety that Lords of the Fallen already offers, especially after the recent introduction of the Advanced Game Modifier System.”
