Tomba returns with a collection of its two games for modern platforms

Collection, Games, Modern, platforms, Returns, Tomba

Those of us who were children in the ’90s definitely remember fondly a colorful caveman who threw pigs with great force on the first PlayStation console. We talk about Tomb! and we have great news for those nostalgic for these platform games: they will soon return in the compilation collection for PC and some consoles.

The first Tomb! It came out in 1997 and had a sequel in 2000 with the subtitle The Evil Swine Return. Both are hilarious 2.5D action-platform games with adventure elements.

The new collection includes both games and is called Tomba Special Edition. It retains the graphics and gameplay of the original, but with some extra elements that will make it more accessible to modern audiences.

Some of the improvements and changes that this collection will have are:

  • We can record anywhere in the game.
  • The option to rewind the action.
  • We can play with analog controls.
  • It will include a museum with promotional images, development documents, original art and more.
  • Remastered soundtrack
  • Interview with Tokuro Fujiwara

Speaking of Fujiwara, The official PlayStation blog published an interview with him to celebrate the collection’s launch announcement. At the time of writing this note it has not been translated into Spanish.

The game collection Tomba Special Edition It will be released for PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Later it will also come to PS4. It will be published by Limited Run Games, which this year already delighted us with the fun Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore.
