Wake up, dead man.also known as Knives Out 3, had its title only revealed this week, but the cast has already assembled and it looks like it’s going to be a very strong one.
Earlier this week, director Rian Johnson and Netflix revealed the name of the next Knives Out film, which is Wake Up Dead Man and will be released in 2025. That was pretty much all that was confirmed about the next film in the popular detective series, with no word on who would be starring in the film. However, a lot has changed in the space of a few days, as it seems that casting news has been made for Wake Up Dead Man, and fans of the Sherlock series starring Benedict Cumberbatch may be happy to hear that Moriarty himself, Andrew Scott, has joined Knives Out 3. There are no details on what role he will play at the moment, we only know the plot information, so all is well.

He joins some newcomers who have already joined the cast, like Josh O’Connor as The Gauntlet and Carly Spaeny as Priscilla. With those three alone, the cast is pretty strong, which is obviously one of the most exciting aspects of the series for many fans, as the first two films have had such extensive casts. I’m sure it’ll be a while before we hear more about the cast, but hopefully Johnson will throw in some unknowns for fun.
The first Knives Out was released back in 2019 and quickly became a hit. It grossed $312 million on a $40 million budget, which is obviously an impressive return for Johnson’s first film after Star Wars. Its sequel, Glass Onion, landed on Netflix with a completely new cast (in addition to the lead Daniel Craig), but it also had a small release in theaters.
