Whether or not you’re part of the elusive Android Auto beta program on Google Play, you can now update to Android Auto 12.1 stablea few days after the new version was first released in beta.
Like always, we tested Android Auto 12.1 in search of news, since Google refuses to modify the list of news which accompanies the update on Google Play.
Update now to stable Android Auto 12.1
If you always want to have your Android Auto up to date, the latest version available is now Android Auto 12.1which after a short beta period, is now available to everyone via Google Play.
We didn’t find anything new in Android Auto 12.1 when it was in beta and We didn’t notice any changes either. in Android Auto 12.1 going through the stable version. This is normal, since Android Auto is constantly updated even if it rarely includes new visible features.

This is not to say that there are no changes, but rather that they are necessary. internal fixes and changes that Google has not yet detailed or included changes and new features that are activated on the server side and we will only be able to learn about them later.
In any case, it is always a good idea to keep Android Auto up to date, because the system is not as stable as we would like and these possible internal fixes and changes are necessary. Especially if you’re having issues with Android Auto.
Android Auto 12.1 is already distributed via Google Play, so it is possible that it has already been updated on your mobile. The new version is version 12.1.6422 and Here are the steps to follow to update:
- First, check which version of Android Auto you already have, as it may have been updated without your knowledge.
- If you still don’t have Android Auto 12.1, open Google Play and tap your profile picture, then choose Manage apps and devices. Then press Update all.
- If you still don’t see the update, visit the Android Auto 12.1 page on APKMirror and download the file to your mobile.
- Open the file (it will open with the package installer) and press Update when asked.
