Riven is an exciting new first-person puzzle game from the creators of Myst, and it’s just got a brand new gameplay trailer ahead of its release later this month. It’s got lots of weird contraptions, walking, and beautiful vistas, and some clever gamers are sure to enjoy it.
You can check out the trailer for yourself above! If Riven sounds a little familiar, that’s because we’ve actually seen it decades ago! Back in 2022, the developers at Cyan Worlds announced that a remaster was in the works as part of the game’s 25th anniversary. This remaster is a huge reveal for one of the most popular puzzle games in PC gaming, and we’ll all get to play it on June 25th.

What else can you expect besides a graphical overhaul? Well, the game will fully support VR, allowing those who play to put themselves in the shoes of Riven’s perpetually confused protagonist. According to the game’s Steam listing, the game will also have a “deeper story.” So even those who played the original shouldn’t be surprised by this shiny remake.
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen classic puzzle games return in this way, and it’s always nice to see beloved games return with a modern twist. Personally, I’m eager to give this game a try and put my aging wits to the test with these classic puzzles.
The game will be available on Steam and GOG on June 25th. Are you planning on giving it a try? Let us know below!
