Unless you want Nintendo’s single-player offerings to shift to a similar seasonal online model, then you can expect updates to these games to disappear after a month, because the games themselves are… done. Apart from bug fixes, they don’t need updates. It’s like an update War and peace
Lucky for you, Splatoon 3 updates will likely stop sooner or later, as we’ve been promised two years of content, which we’re nearing the end of. There will probably be a lot of hype surrounding the ‘Final Splatfest’ (or similar Finals-style event), but afterwards you’ll feel the sweet relief of not having to read about updates for a game you’re not playing.
…at least until Splatoon 4 is inevitably announced as the Switch’s successor.
