Fallout 76: NPCs, factions, new creatures & weapons in the trailer for the Wastelanders update
The wastelanders update for Fallout 76, which has been eagerly awaited by many fans, has been delayed. This is communicated by developer Bethesda. The patch with NPCs and factions for the post-apocalyptic Appalachia should actually go live on April 7th, now is an appointment one week later Targeted: The new release is on April 14, 2020.
The reason for the shift is the corona crisis. As the publisher and developer explains, due to the tightened contact rules, work in the Quality assurance is not fast enough to meet the Fallout 76: Wastelanders release date.

However, Bethesda promises that Fallout 76 will continue to play as usual despite the pandemic:
"Like many others around the world, we are currently facing a difficult situation. To ensure everyone's safety, we have restricted personal interactions and our employees work from home.
Of course that changed our way of working. Nevertheless, support continues to work, so all live games are still fully playable. […] We can't wait until everyone can play it! Special thanks to all players on the private test server for their help. "
The release was just the beginning
Fallout 76 was released in November 2018 completely without NPCs and since then has relied largely on interaction between players and audio recordings as a story vehicle.
As our editor Dimi stated in the test for Fallout 76, this circumstance damages the gaming experience in addition to numerous bugs and unbalanced balance: With a rating of 60, the judgment was at best mediocre. Players also criticize the mentioned aspects in many voices.
Bethesda accepted the criticism and subsequently promised many improvements. They came through numerous patches, even a Battle Royale found its way into Fallout 76:

With the Wastelanders Patch, the long-awaited NPCs and factions are finally supposed to return to the wasteland. The update is so extensive that Bethesda had to postpone Fallout 76: Wastelanders' original launch date in autumn 2019.
Force majeure is now also being added, but another week of waiting may be a pain in favor of the quality of the update.
