GTA Online: Big summer update with bounty missions, vigilantism & more

Rockstar Games has announced a major summer update for GTA Online that will bring plenty of new content, including new bounty missions and a new form of vigilantism.

While the entire gaming world is waiting for Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games is continuing to deliver content in the long-running GTA Online to shorten the waiting time. The long-running online part will receive the next major update with plenty of new content in the summer.

This next update will allow you to set up your own bail bonds and bounty agency to target lucrative targets and apprehend the criminals roaming around southern San Andreas. In addition to the brand new bounty missions, Vincent will need help in the city to assert his authority without official supervision. You’ll then be able to get behind the wheel of a tuned patrol car and carry out a range of more unofficial police activities in Los Santos.

In terms of content, there will also be a whole host of new vehicles for your collection. Increased payouts await you in various familiar modes and missions, including Taxi Rides, Open Wheel Racing, Operation Incriminating Documents and more.

The existing creator tools are also being improved. New tools and features are being added to these, so that in the future you will also be able to create your own tracks for drift racing and drag racing. You can place new units on all tracks, including drivers doing donuts, jumping lowriders, spectator animations and more.

In this context, testing races is also easier, as tests can then be started at any checkpoint. Drag races can optionally be run for several laps before the winner is declared.

But the big summer update is still not over, because in addition to the fresh content, there will also be improvements to the gaming experience. Rockstar Games says it was primarily inspired by the wishes and feedback of fans.

The upcoming changes include, for example, a longer timer in sell missions to make it easier for solo players to complete biker and gunrunning sales, the ability to automatically refill snacks at the start of most missions, a buff to the defensive abilities and armor of the Sparrow and Bombushka, and more. The base payouts for open-wheel races, taxi rides, and many contact missions will also be increased to guarantee fair wins in the overall context.

GTA+ members on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will receive the new Överflöd Pipistrello (Supercar) for free as part of their membership on the day the Summer Update launches, one week before it becomes generally available. They will also continue to receive the special monthly bonus of GTA$1,000,000 through August, in addition to the usual GTA$500,000.
