The latest Star Wars series is of course not without a masked villain. The character with the red lightsaber was already seen in the first trailers for The Acolyte. But who is hiding behind the mask? According to some fans, there is already solid evidence of his identity in the first two episodes.
Spoiler warning: The following is not only about the concrete content of episodes 1 and 2, but also about a theory about the potential course of the series and a possible twist.
Who is the master?
In the first two episodes, viewers not only learn that assassin Mae has a twin sister named Osha, but was commissioned by a “master” to kill four Jedi.
Said Jedi were present when Mae and Osha lost their family in a fire. The motives and identity of this master are still unknown.

Fan theory about the poisoner
A criminal dealer named Qimir serves as Mae’s accomplice. He produces a poison for one of her assassinations and at least knows of the Master’s existence.
However, some fans believe that Qimir is in truth the masterThere are three specific reasons given for this:
1. Qimir can fight: In one scene, the weak petty criminal is able to defend himself surprisingly well against the ambush of the assassin Mae, as you can see in the following clip:

2. Only a facade: Building on the deception about his true abilities, Qimir is only meant to be the public image to hide the Sith Lord. Just like Palpatine and his true identity Darth Sidious:

3. He quotes the Sith Code: While Qimir is mixing the poison in the second episode, he says to Mae: “The Jedi justify their galactic dominance by maintaining peace and peace…” »It’s a lie, I know«Mae finishes his sentence as if she had heard it many times from Qimir.
In a Reddit post, the user MasterOfTheArcane999 noticed this similarity to the doctrine of the Sith, which states: »Peace is a lie. There is only passion. […]«
However, the Sith themselves are not mentioned in the first episodes; neither Mae nor Qimir speak of the master as a Sith. The Jedi also do not mention their opponents from the dark side. Whether the theory proves true may become apparent in the six remaining episodes of The Acolyte, a new one of which appears every Wednesday on Disney+.
