Hello City Builders! I'm Henri Haimakainen, cities: Skylines game designer in the Colossal Order. We are very excited to introduce PS4 players to a range of new features in recent Cities: Skylines DLC, Sunset Harbor. I will be going with you for details to look at including new ways to travel and a new industry!
First, I want to introduce the basic premise of the expansion of Sunset Harbor: The Fisheries Industry! Fisheries Sector is a new addition to the choice of urban industry: Skylines. It is a type of industry which is divided by the Industry DLC and no manufacturing firm needs more to operate. Fishing is a regular part of any port city so it seemed like a good addition to the game and we were all super excited to finally do it. At Sunset Harbor, you manage the fishing industry in the city and manage everything from simple fishing line planning to the final production where you send your canned fish to the shops for profit. You get to decide how to run the entire gamut of growing your beloved fish farms on the beach to make sure they end up on your residents' plates.
I want to get into the basics of creating your own fishing industry and what to expect when you first start. Initially, you will build an insignificant Fishing Boat Harbor and outline the methods of fishing boats. Similar to other port facilities, Fishing Harbor comes with a built-in road and has two built-in fishing facilities from scratch. One will be outgoing boats and the other on incoming boats. From these points, you can create a path with a special fishing tool. This is where we wanted you to be able to do a little creativity and think strategically. You can draw a line as you see fit to interact with two places. The layout of the trail and the length is perfect for you, and most fishing methods can cross each other so you have all the freedom of what you set up.
With a completed fishing line and an efficient Fishing Harbor, automatic fishing boats are sent out. We kept the prices of the catch evenly and kept the conservation margin evenly low but the boats were able to catch any kind of fish. We have also accelerated the speed of your boats depending on its current action. When it is busy catching fish it is slow but when it fills the capacity and goes home, it picks up speed. After your full boats return to port you can finally start the packing process, load them into fish trucks and export them to the fish market! Like the rest of our industry, we really wanted to participate in the entire fishing industry as much as possible to make it feel real and meaningful to the city. Program presenter Lukas Kallenbach, in charge of installing this feature, and I have spent many days discovering how to use this feature without interrupting other industries and that the process will be well presented yet meaningful. I am so excited about what we come up with and hope everyone will love to create this extra in their town!
For public transport fans, we are pleased to announce the most requested car is now available for this new expansion! From the day Cities: Skylines was released, our General Manager Mariina Hallikainen has impressed us with a new type of travel: Trolleybuses! It seems like our old fans from our great travel days of horror were shocked to see trolleys not in this version of vanilla and as an insult to our injury we used the Snowfall expansion track and had no plans to use trolleys with them. We had discussed how difficult or difficult the feature was to use. Personally I would inform all players that we are actually listening to your feedback. We think of every single idea when we first decide on new content! The team at the Colossal Order is interested and very excited about public transportation as our community.
The real reason Trolleybus has never been added before is because of its technical difficulties. These cars & # 39; are traceable, & # 39; and they draw their strength from the ropes of the whole city. But unlike traditional tires, they use two wires and two poles to complete the electrical circuit and are able to switch lanes and stand on the side of the road. In particular, the trolley poles are the most subtle part of the whole process. It actually took two program editors, Ti Benvenuti and Felix Schmidt, to take over the project and eventually found a way to overcome technical challenges, which pleases me and the management. I hope you do too!
Ti and Felix explain that on every street corner, you will find three important marks: One at the beginning, one at the center and one at the end. Electrical cables mimic a mask, and with a certain amount of mathematical calculations we can find the beginning and end of each cage combination. When the bus is on the sidewalk, we want its pole to be connected to the front fence. The game knows how the bus is positioned and rotated around the earth, and as a result it is possible to calculate the coordinates where the trunk beam is placed on the bus. The trolley pole cannot be stretched, so the distance between the link where the beam is attached to the bus and where the beam is attached to the rope must always be equal to the length of the beam. Now that we know where the stake is attached to the box and where the stake is attached to the fence, it is possible to provide the beam in the correct position and rotation. This was just one small step our team had taken to make sure the trolleybuses were there. and facts as much as possible.
Last but certainly not least, we introduce Intercity Buses as a public transport service. In addition to transporting guests, the Intercity Bus Service also makes travel easier for your residents and ultimately reduces overcrowding, as people leave their cars at home.
New bus and meeting stations are located on the construction menu tab similar to the local bus service. There is no need to create any stations or lines, just build an interconnected bus station or terminal and you will know that connecting buses are starting to make regular stops in your city. I am excited about how everything is happening in this new feature. We made sure to feature a new model of bus cars that we are sure our community will enjoy! As an additional tip from our team for all PlayStation 4 city builders out there, be sure to adjust the old bus budget slider to encourage your residents to use the meetup buses more. We want to make sure that you can start seeing meeting buses as soon as possible to make sure your city benefits from this new mode of transportation!
My team and I put a lot of thought and care into Sunset Harbor, and we look forward to seeing what all the City has to offer: the Skylines community on the PS4 with all the new features we've added. In addition to the new Trolleybus, Fishing Industry, and Intercity Buses, be sure to take a look at some of the new features and maps we have cleverly built just for building our city!
