It seems that we already have an official name for Apple’s AI, everything indicates that it will be called “Apple Intelligence”
We are at the gates of WWDC24, the Apple developers conference which is characterized by the launch of new software-related news. And it seems that this year the company will focus on artificial intelligence, and The chosen name is “Apple Intelligence”an interesting play on words with the acronym AI for “artificial intelligence”.
As Mark Gurman revealed in BloombergApple plans to launch many new things in terms of artificial intelligence and, as often happens, the company chose to have its own brand. The same way Google has Gemini or OpenAI has ChatGPT.
The company’s new AI system will be called Apple Intelligence and will be available on new versions of the iPhone, iPad and Mac operating systems, according to people familiar with the matter. There will also be a partnership with OpenAI which will power a chatbot similar to ChatGPT.

At developer conferences, Apple usually focuses on the different innovations coming with each new operating system. But this year it seems that “Apple Intelligence” will be the real star of the eventsince its artificial intelligence functions will reach all company systems in multiple ways.
According to Gurman, the different Apple’s AI features will make up about half of the main WWDC presentation, or about an hour. That’s a lot of time spent on these features, we already know that iOS 18 will have many new artificial intelligence features, but it looks like we’ll get a lot more than expected.

Apple’s goal is apply your AI technology in as many applications as possible, with the premise of making users’ daily lives easier. These features will be in beta and users can choose not to use them if they don’t want to.
The ace Apple’s AI features will be powered by its own OpenAI technology and tools, most of them will be processed on the devices themselves, although the more powerful ones will probably need to connect to the company’s servers. As for specific functions, Gurman talks about several of them that we will have available in iOS 18 and the rest of the operating systems:
- summary: a function with which we can quickly summarize articles and web pages in Safari, as well as voice notes from meetings, messages or emails. Even iOS will offer a summary of missed notifications.
- Suggested answers: The iPhone will be able to automatically create fully expanded replies to emails and messages on behalf of the user.
- Siri: Apple will completely renew its voice assistant using generative AI. For the first time, Siri users will be able to precisely control certain actions within applications. For example, people will be able to ask Siri to delete an email, edit a photo, or summarize a news article.
