The iPhone 9 launch event is likely to be canceled due to the impact of the CCIDID-19 outbreak, though Apple may decide to start it by surprise as it did this year with the new Apple Pro and MacBook Air.
According to information from the portal Nikkei Asia Review, which reached out to nearby sources, Apple would discuss internally whether to postpone the launch of the iPhone 12 for several months, without questioning the company's most important event of the year.
There are two possible reasons for this delay. The first one is in working order: the iPhone 12 production system has been run by a coronavirus since day one, since most of Apple's production is in Asia.
In addition, when COVID-19 spread throughout Europe and the United States, the company had to take precautionary measures, such as sending its staff home or, in at least one case, closing its offices for deep cleaning.
The second reason is the general idea. When this global health problem ends, it is very likely that many of us will come out of it with less financial capacity and, as a result, more interested in spending more money on mobile.
"Apple is concerned that the current situation will dramatically reduce the consumer's desire to update their phones, which could lead to an uncomfortable acceptance of the first iPhone 5G," a Nikkei source said.
Finally it helps a lot to understand this argument. The latest iPhones have received release with a little hype: the iPhone X (2017) offered an exciting new design, but the iPhone XS (2018) and iPhone 11 Pro (2019) are the same.
In this sense, IPhone 12 2020 should have come and changed the market, especially with the introduction of the 5G compatibility we mentioned (although this technology has already come to other Android phones before).
Apple, as often happens, has delayed the 5G revolution. This doesn't have to be a problem because those from Cupertino prefer not to drink but do better than one. But for this, they need the first iPhone 5G to be successful.
Some sources say that Apple has not yet decided to officially postpone the launch of the iPhone 12 or, if so, how long. The company is scheduled to make a decision, soon, next May.
This will give them a clear idea of what the future consequences of the new coronavirus will be and the underlying health problem. The delay being introduced until 2021 will be a very serious situation, but it is possible.
At its heyday, Apple relied heavily on the iPhone. When their sales began to decline, many thought that the end of the apple company's control period was imminent.
