A new Gears of War game just came out. Gears of War: Cyber Day It’s a prequel to the original trilogy, taking us back to the initial events of the world-destroying war when the Locust emerges from Earth. There’s no release date yet, but we know it’ll be on Game Pass eventually.
You can watch the trailer below. It’s a cinematic trailer that caps off Xbox’s appearance at Summer Game Fest 2024, but it sets a good tone with a slower (and somehow sadder) rendition of “Mad World.” The song has been used before in classic Gears trailers, suggesting this is a return to the original character.

There’s no further information available at this time, but this is a bold move by The Coalition. So is Microsoft! Launching this game on Game Pass is a big move, as anyone who’s played Gears 5 using the service knows.
