WQHD IP monitor is 27 cm and 170 Hz

monitor, WQHD

This review was actually announced on Freecom which took place in August, but it's not until now that ASUS has finally made it to stores, and although it's true that Europe is not yet available (it will be a few weeks later), you can buy it in US stores, including Amazon.

Features of ASUS ROG Strix XG279Q

This is monitoring, as we said, the screen 27 inch diagonal by resolution WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels), with IPS matrix, response time of 1 ms, real difference of 1000 to 1, maximum brightness of 400 cd / m2, 178 degree view in both directions, depth of color 8 Copper 90% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum (this is 125% of the sRGB spectrum). It also has a certificate VESA HDR400.

Originally the index has a refresh rate of 144 Hz, but in its ASUS announcement it has already said that it can be restored to HH 165. It is now being advertised as it can increase its refresh rate 170 Hz extremely easily, so either they have set it up for improvement before introducing it to the market, or they have seen that the panel can support it without any problems and use it as an advertising strategy. In either one case or the other, monitoring is consistent with adaptive adaptation, which means it works with it AMD FreeSync but also G-Sync is compatible.

ASUS assumes that the matrix of this monitor is what they have called fast IPS, which they say is four times faster than the standard IPS panel (its response time is 1 ms compared to 4 ms). Motion blur (or almost) with ELMB SYNC technology is also eliminated

It must be said that even though the monitor is powered by the VESA HDR400, we can't expect a truly spectacular HDR experience given the intense 400 cd / m2 light of its panel.

Finally, it should be noted that, as usual, ASUS has incorporated many of its trademark alert features, such as RGB illumination on the background logo and Aura Sync, hologram down, cross-platform opportunities, SPF counter, etc. As a video input, by the way, the monitor has a DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI 2.0 ports, as well as two USB 3.0 ports and a headphone jack.

Its price, when it reaches stores in Spain, is expected to be close 650 euros.
