When the crime comedy Knives On hit theaters in 2019, no one expected the film to be such a success. Flirting with the formula of Agatha Christie’s detective novels, the film allowed Daniel Craig to prove that he could play more than James Bond and made Ana de Armas a star.
A clever twist on the classic thriller genre, hilarious social satire and a sensational cast made the film a smash hit and caught the attention of Netflix. The streaming giant purchased the rights to the sequels and the Knives Out sequel premiered on the service in 2022.
But the adventures of detective Benoit Blanc do not stop there since several other films are planned. For now, information about the third film in the series is starting to emerge.
We’ve looked at all the hints and tips to find out what to expect from Wake Up Dead Man, AKA Knives Out 3.

Work on the filming of Knives Out 3 has just begun. Netflix revealed that Wake Up Dead Man will premiere on the service in 2025.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery title meaning
Rian Johnson, writer and director of the series, likes to create metaphorical titles for his detective stories.
The first thriller is called Knives Out, which references the Radiohead song as well as the sharp tools and family feuds that fill the film.
The second title – Glass Onion – refers to a Beatles song and is a metaphor for something complex but transparent.
The third film in the Knives Out series will be Wake Up Dead Man. According to Johnson, this time the name is derived from a song from the U2 album called Pop.
