In mid-2020 we discovered an excellent retro-style game from the Canadian indie studio Tribute Games, which a few years later would make the also great TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. The title in question is called Panzer Paladin and now, almost four years after its original release for PC and Nintendo Switch, it is finally coming to Xbox (One, Series X|S) and PlayStation (PS4, PS5) consoles.

You can read our review of this game here. As you can see, it is a work of action and 2D platforms in which we control a ‘mecha’ strongly inspired by the ‘anime’ of the 70s and 80s. You can see what it looks like in action in the trailer below. continuation.

Although it has elements clearly inspired by classics such as Mega Man y Master Blaster, also has a lot of originality and personality. Among its most notable mechanics is the use of the melee weapons that we find in the scenarios. These break with use, but can also be destroyed in advance to perform ‘enchantments’, activate checkpoints and converted into improvements for the mecha at the end of each level.

Another great detail is that the bosses are inspired by the mythology of each country we visit in the game and are not necessarily the most well-known legends. It is also striking that we can create our own weapons and share them over the Internet with other players.

Panzer Paladin can now be obtained in the PlayStation store for $19.99 dollars (approximately 80,500 Colombian pesos) and in the Xbox store for 60,900 pesos. It is also still available for Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam.
