Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall has finally arrived on Android and iOS, a new video game developed by Behavior Interactive, and based on HBO's Game of Thrones series. In this title, players must team up with different iconic characters from the franchise in order to complete turn-based combat missions. However, playing doesn't tell you much about how was the process of creating the game, or what the developers relied on to make this title come true.
However, Dan Guertin (creative director of the game) has spoken about some details of the game during a recent interview with Comicbook. Here he explains that they have been studying other games for a long time to avoid making mistakes. The main objective was to make the Turn-based combat gameplay and history
“When we look at the games, we look at many of the classic turn-based strategies and also the latest ones. We have many influences. There is no definitive game in which we have said: "Okay, this is what inspires us." There are many little things here, there. They are from things like Fire Emblem or Wargroove. Even though we were designing a game, even though some modern games were coming out, we still looked at them to make sure we got an experience that made sense and worked well on mobile devices as well. We wanted to strike the right balance between a game that offered a good enough experience that players looking for turn-based strategy could find something, but also fans who weren't really looking for a great game. ”
Guertin also does emphasis on gameplay for mobile devicesWell, this also led them to create something that offered a good experience for both fans and other players who do not know much about the franchise.
