The fans of DOOM They can deal with almost any discarded content (locations, enemies, objects…), but there is one thing they don’t play with: weapons. There is nothing more cruel than taking away toys of death and destruction from the DOOM Slayer and from the players by extension.
The latest installment of the franchise, DOOM Eternal, dispensed with an iconic weapon that has been helping us kill demons for decades: the gun. According to commented in 2020, was scrapped because it “didn’t really fit the flow of combat.” We will agree that we would all have paid that price to have one more weapon in our arsenal.
Luckily, the developers at id Software did not delete the weapon, they simply hid it in the code. DOOM Eternal. They knew that we would find it sooner or later and that we players would end up using it regardless of all the objections that prevented it from reaching our arsenal naturally. So it was. Currently, there are dozens of tutorials that explain how to unlock it.
As you see in the video, it is not a half-made discarded gun, but rather a completely finished weapon with a very elaborate design, ammunition system, sounds and animations of all kinds: shooting, changing the type of shot and other abilities. The truth is that it looked incredible and it’s a shame that many players couldn’t enjoy it because it was so hidden and/or played on consoles. It could only be accessed in the PC version, as indicated by the WikiFandom the DOOM.
