Team Asano, the studio behind Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, admitted that they regretted announcing the game so early in 2021, leaving fans eager to learn about the release date via this week’s Nintendo Direct. November 14th is the release date, by the way, in case you were too busy washing your hair on the afternoon of June 18th.
Yes, we had heard almost nothing about this game until the trailer was released last month, as it was announced alongside a whole suite of other Dragon Quest games during the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary Special Livestream, and everyone seemed a bit overwhelmed at the time, saying ‘eh, this is our thing too.’ Naturally, people then wanted to know more about the remake, which its developers couldn’t tell them just yet.

Now, the official account of Bravely Default 2 has posted a tweet, with the Asano team saying that if they could go back in time, they might do something different – in the words of Cher.
“We were told that too much time had passed since we announced we had started development, but this is not unusual as all of our games have taken 3-4 years to develop,” reads Automaton’s translation of the post in question.

“But, compared to the other announcements, the (initial) announcement was too early (for us to consider this),” the developer continued, “so, thank you so much for waiting.” That’s it. They’re considering it, just like you’re throwing them in detention for getting your hopes up too early.
If you’re having a hard time waiting until November 14, then checking out our recent impressions of the game is definitely a good way to pass the time, though I can’t promise that you won’t be more excited for it.
