We’re on the eve of the release of Shadow of the Erdtree in Elden Ring and that can only mean one thing: it’s International Kill Mohg, Lord of Blood Day! He “Kill Mohg Day!” was coined by the community as soon as they knew the official release date and where the DLC entry was located.
Hundreds of players have returned these days to Fire Ring to prepare your characters and shake off the rust with the controls. Many have chosen to help other players defeat Mohg to open the door to the DLC, and we learned a few days ago that less than 40% of players on each platform had defeated him. Things have improved a little, but not too much.
Today is the day when everyone comes into Fire Ring to make the last preparations, but we recommend patience for all of you who enter early: FromSoftware announced that the servers would have a 3-hour maintenance period starting at 9:00 a.m. That is, it has already begun. If nothing fails, they will be active again by 12:00 p.m. They have also published the launch trailer, which you have just above this paragraph.
And what does this mean? Once the new update is installed (15,628 GB on PS5), you can enter your game to manage equipment and advance until you defeat Mohg, but you will have to be the loner. You will not be able to ask for help or help other players until the servers are back up. There will also be no messages on the ground. FromSoftware has not waited until the last minute to implement maintenance, which leaves all day in case there are expansions and/or complications.
