Do you know Blade & Sorcery? This French video game is one of the most popular in the world of virtual reality and after years of availability, it is finally released in version 1.0.

VR has been established in the video game landscape for some time now. It still has a long way to go before it is democratized and some players are working on it, but it has already come a long way and some games have even achieved great critical success. Half-Life: Alyx or Beat Sabre are some of the best examples, But we can also cite Blade & Sorcery, a sandbox released in Early Access in 2018.
The goal? Slash, jump, massacre and enchant dozens and dozens of mobs in virtual reality: The effect is guaranteed and the gameplay videos, especially on the Internet, are numerous and impressive. The game also leaves room for imagination and mods, offering countless possibilities, combinations and truly impressive finishing moves. It is therefore very popular and maybe (probably?) you have already seen snippets on social networks without even knowing that it is Blade & Sorcery.
Finally a full version!
If Blade & Sorcery took a long time to come out in its final version, it’s also because it’s a project that’s come a long way. It basically just involved a single French developer, KospY, experimenting with a physics engine in virtual reality before gradually adding key gameplay elements. One thing led to another, KospY founded FrogWapr, a real studio, and created a real team of several developers.
The game has evolved significantly during the five years of Early Access and is now finally available in version 1.0 on Steam. It costs 29.99 dollars and requires (of course) a VR headset. As for a possible release of PS5 with PSVR2, the studio has not yet made a clear statement on the subject…
