We still do not know the final date of the next Unpacked 2024 where we will see the replacements of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Samsung Galaxy Watch6, but we know almost all their characteristics. And even the appearance: The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra was just leaked in detail. And confirms its square box.
Samsung is following the usual script when it comes to mobile device launches, as the Samsung Galaxy S24 was released with pomp and pageantry in early 2024. Now it’s time for Summer Unpacked, once the setting for the defunct Galaxy Note and where they Now taking center stage are foldables. And watches, another common type of device in summer. What is strange is the presence of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra: square case and round screen

When it comes to design, smartwatches can be of two types: either with a square case and screen, or with this round format. The first are defended by the Apple Watch, the second by the Galaxy Watch. AND Samsung wants to cross the border into other terrain.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra would be a model added to the Samsung Galaxy Watch7: two watches which, surely, They will offer a sporty variant and a classic. To emphasize the family with additional features and benefits, Samsung would have turned to Apple and its Apple Watch Ultra. Even in the design.
We had already anticipated the square design of the plausible Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the latest leaked images would have confirmed the design: square box, very rounded corners and, in the center, a round screen. A curious movement which assimilates two contrary trends in a single model.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra would do without rotating bezels to mount a crown on the right side, like classic watches (and the Apple Watch). AND a pair of buttons would flank said crown: one above and one below. Not much else is known about the features of this design, although one of said buttons surely directly launches the sports records app.
The new models are expected to launch an Exynos for watches, they will retain a good collection of medical sensors and, possibly, this new Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra will finally include non-invasive blood sugar measurement. There’s probably only a few weeks left to find out: Unpacked summer is almost here.
