Anstream hits the App Store on June 27 with over 1,300 classic games for iPhone and iPad
Apple has made significant changes to the App Store to comply with the Digital Markets Act in Europe, but has also implemented other changes globally, such as support for streaming games.
The new streaming video game platform Anstream Arcade will change the rules of the game. After the launch of emulators like Delta or RetroArch, Antstream has now become one of the first cloud gaming platforms to land on the App Store.
The first users to have access to Antstream assure that streaming games have very high performance and uploading content to the cloud is seamless. Except in the case of other games like PlayStation Worms, with slightly longer loading times.
The Antstream premium subscription offers unlimited access to all games individually, but also allows participation in online tournaments and multiplayer modes with leaderboard-based scores.
Antstream Arcade is the perfect excuse for all retro gaming fans, including yours truly, to have the satisfaction of revisiting those memories by playing games from their childhood or adolescence to ease their nostalgia.
It is true that currently many development companies are clearly focused on creating new retro games, but they are still not the same as the usual classic games.
iOS 18 game mode
The launch of streaming game platforms coincided with the imminent arrival of iOS 18 game mode. This game mode optimizes the experience by prioritizing system resources for running games.
Until now, Game mode was only available on Mac, with iOS 18 it will also be extended to the iPhone. Game mode is automatically activated as soon as a user opens a gamethat is, when a notification appears at the top informing you that game mode has been activated.
iOS 18 game mode reduces background activity, shifts resources to active gaming, and improves the response of connected devices such as MFi controllers or AirPods. Without a doubt, a feature that will be very useful to enjoy Antstream Arcade.
