A reward in sight?
Season four of The young was released on Amazon Prime Video on June 13th and viewers were excited to see the boys before the Seven. This sequel takes us back to where we left off, we obviously find the original cast of the previous seasons: Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie Campbell) and Antony Starr (Homelander) are still present. But here the star of the show actually seems to be The Protector, who according to showrunner Eric Kripke will deliver a very scary performance in the next episode!
To mark the series’ return, viewers were offered three episodes. In this post about X, Eric Kripke hints at an important passage in the character’s development and even suggests that the actor’s performance deserves an award.
I’ve driven many sections of Homelander and this is one of the scariest! Seriously give the man an Emmy.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the character Joe Kessler, an old friend of Billy Butcher, also responded to the post with a simple “I agree.”
Without giving anything away, Homelander makes the decision to return to a significant place in his life. We then expect (knowing his character) that he will pass the point of no return. Obviously, this does not bode well.
A sequel that divides
The third season of the series was very well received by critics, and the sequel seems to be just as good, as it receives a rating of 95% Rotten tomatoes. Everyone agrees that the series is really good and the plot plunges us into a political struggle that reflects the splinters of our modern societies, an angle that fans don’t seem to like, which corresponds to a rating of 49% (on the same website). This fourth season actually seems to disappoint some. Whether it’s a bomb attack or simple disappointment – for now you can follow the boys’ adventures on Amazon Prime Video.
