There's a gun in Doom Eternal, but only with a trick

The Doom Eternal pistol is completely modeled, animated and ready for use.

In Doom Eternal you have a very extensive arsenal of weapons at your disposal: from a chainsaw to shotguns to the infamous BFG-10000. In contrast to the predecessors, there is no pistol. Or at least that's what you thought. Because in reality the developer only deactivated it.

So you get the gun

• First download the Cheat Engine
• Next you need the DOOMEternalx64vk.CT from the Fearlessrevolution-Foum
• Opens the file with Cheat Engine and activates »Unrestrict Console Commands / CVars & Bind«
• Now start Doom Eternal
• Then switch back to Cheat Engine and select Doom Eternal with the "Select a Process to open" button in the top left
• Load your game and open the console by pressing ^
• Now enter the command »g_enablePistol 1«

Use at your own risk! Some anti-cheat measures detect when Cheat Engine is started on your PC and consider this as an attempt to defraud, which can lead to an automatic ban. So make sure you quit the program before starting Doom Eternal's multiplayer or any other title.

The pistol can do that

The gun from Doom Eternal has two different fire modes: A single shot and a burst shot that fires three bullets at once. In contrast to the predecessors, however, it does not have infinite ammunition and uses the same bullets as the Autocannon.

You've probably heard by now that DOOM Eternal originally had a pistol and YES it's still in the game and accessible via console commands (with Cheat Engine)

I've heard it was scrapped because it didn't really fit the combat flow.

If you look closely, you may recognize them. Because the »opinion booster« is based on the design of the weapon that the Doom Slayer holds in his hands on the artwork of the very first Doom from 1993.

The weapon from the artwork served as a template for the pistol from Doom Eternal.
