Forza Horizon 4 is making changes to the Festival playlist and will also be removing the game from digital stores.
Playground Games has officially announced that Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from digital stores on December 15, 2024 and will no longer be available for digital purchase. All DLCs have already been removed from stores.
Anyone who already owns the game can download and reinstall it at any time, but repurchasing the game will no longer be possible from December 15, 2024. The reasons for the removal are contracts and licenses.
“Due to licenses and agreements with our partners, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from digital platforms (Microsoft Store and Steam) on December 15, 2024. This means that the game and its additional content will no longer be available in online stores.”
“On December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from stores and Xbox Game Pass. This means the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase. Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as usual, including offline, online, and multiplayer features; physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and be able to use online features.”
“If you played Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and purchased DLC content for it, don’t worry: If you have an active, fully paid (non-discounted) Xbox Game Pass subscription on 6/25, you will be able to receive a game token when you purchased additional content for Forza Horizon 4 through your Xbox Message Center. Codes will be delivered in the next few days. Please keep in mind that it may take a while for you to receive your token.”
There are more changes coming, as starting July 25th, the final series for the game will be Series 77, which includes the final Festival Playlist, which ends on August 22nd.
“After Series 77 ends on August 22, you will no longer be able to access the playlist screen except to view the Festival playlist history. When you start the game, you will be taken to the Festival Site screen and no longer to the Festival Playlist.”
“Although there will be no more Festival Playlists after Series 77 (August 22), you will still be able to see the Forza Events screen, which contains a selection of daily and weekly challenges. Completing these challenges and Forzathon live events will earn you Forzathon Points that you can redeem for Backstage Passes.”
“We will update the Backstage Pass car list with any remaining cars that were exclusive to the Festival Playlist after Series 77.”
Series 77, which ends on August 22nd, is the last opportunity to collect achievements associated with the Festival Playlist:
(A Creature of Habit |15 |Complete all Season Championships in a Festival Playlist Series. | |Stunt Puller |15 |Complete all Seasonal PR Stunts in a Festival Playlist Series. | |Redeem |20 |Earn 1 End of Season Bonus. | |Perfectionist |30 |Earn all 8 End of Season Bonuses in the same series. | |Encore?|50|Complete all activities in a single Festival Playlist Series.)
If you don’t own Forza Horizon 4 yet, you should wait until July 14, 2024, because then there will be a special Forza Horizon 4 sale so that you can get the game with all the content in the largest version at a low price.
