DC Studios continues to shape its most ambitious projects. As James Gunn continues filming the new Superman movie, the company has offered an update on Lanternsthe Max series that will bring back the Green Lantern after the debacle of the movie starring Ryan Reynolds.
Thanks to the American portal Deadlinewe have been able to know that Chris Mundy will become the showrunner of the series, in addition to being a screenwriter alongside Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of Lostand Tom King, one of the heavyweights of the new DC Studios.
Likewise, it has also been confirmed that the series will have a total of eight episodes, thus following in the wake of the second season of The House of the Dragon and hinting that HBO’s new strategy will include reducing the number of episodes in many of its future series.
As for the synopsis, it has been revealed that the series will star Hal Jordan and John Stewart, two Green Lanterns well known to the public, in charge of investigating a mysterious murder in the heart of the United States. The release date is still unknown, but given the pace of the new DC, it is likely that we will not see anything from this project until well into 2025 or even 2026.
