Elden Ring: Shadows of the Erdtree has received its first balance patch, and while it’s a small, yet far-reaching one, the Elden Ring official website has announced this balance correction, which significantly improves the stat gains from the initial Shadowrealm blessings (Blessing of the Scadutree and Ash of the Revered Spirit).
This should make early bosses like Lelana and the Lion Dance a lot easier for players who are still struggling to beat them. In fact, it should allow players to tackle most of the first 50% of the DLC without doing too much exploring – great news for players who want to duke it out with the Messmer relatively early on.

Previously, some players have posted a lot of negative reviews and criticisms about the DLC, claiming that the game is too difficult, not fun, and hard to really get into. Some people even made mods for the game, reducing the impact of Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes to make it similar in difficulty to the base game.
One of them is even called “Reporter Mode,” although you know, a lot of journalists and guide writers played through the unpatched game before it was released and couldn’t find help online.

DLCs are hard, no lie! This solution will push players over some early hurdles, allowing them to explore the rest of the map and sweep up the remaining Shadowlands blessings. This is a smart solution because the later level effects of these blessings are smaller, which should keep players who reach higher upgrade levels at roughly the same level before and after the patch.
This means that even if this update allows you to progress further into the DLC, those subsequent bosses will still be strong. Just wait for the final boss… for now them Very difficult!
