Watch Joyn via MagentaTV: How to stream both conveniently with just one app

You can now also access Joyn’s content via MagentaTV. We’ll show you what you need to stream on the platform and how you can combine the offers.

For a long time, Joyn’s program was not available via MagentaTV. That changed in February 2024. As a result of the comprehensive cooperation between Deutsche Telekom and ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, Telekom customers can now access Joyn content via MagentaTV.

Since when is Joyn available for MagentaTV?

There has been speculation since 2019 that MagentaTV would include Joyn’s content in its offering. However, this step did not take place until February 2024, when MagentaTV undertook a complete redesign.

In addition to renaming the Magenta Megathek to MagentaTV+, the platform also received a new design. Telekom also announced a partnership with Joyn, which will give Telekom customers access to Joyn’s wide range of programs.

Stream Joyn to your TV via MagentaTV: Here’s how

To watch Joyn on your Smart TV via MagentaTV, you need the MagentaTV Stick or the MagentaTV One Box. Connect one of these streaming devices to the TV and start MagentaTV.

Then select a program that you want to watch. If it is from the live TV area and belongs to one of the ProSiebenSat.1 channels, you can play it directly via MagentaTV.

If it is another type of Joyn content, you will be redirected to the Joyn app. There you will find even more live TV channels. If you do not yet have the Joyn app, you will first have to download the application before you can view the content.

Use Joyn via the MagentaTV app on your mobile phone

You can also use Joyn via the MagentaTV app on your mobile phone. The procedure is hardly different from transferring to the TV.

Simply open the MagentaTV app on your smartphone and select a program of your choice. If the content is from the live TV area and belongs to one of the ProSiebenSat.1 channels, you can play it directly. Otherwise, you will be redirected to the Joyn app.

Do you want to use Joyn on your laptop or PC? To do so, open the MagentaTV page and log into your account. Then select the films or series you want to stream.

As with TV and smartphone, you can play a program directly if it comes from the live TV area and one of the ProSiebenSat.1 channel groups. Otherwise, you will be redirected to the Joyn website. There you will find even more content that you can watch on your laptop or PC.
