A great game for fans who miss it

Fans, game, great

In the absence of a new Dishonored, which at the moment seems to be nothing more than a sweet dream, a promising game is emerging that will be heavily inspired by it.

The last time we heard about Dishonored was in 2017 with the terrible news that the series was cancelled due to disappointing sales for the second installment. When Xbox closed Arkane Austin last May, it seemed like a death blow for a quality infiltration license, with the Lyon studio currently working on Deathloop and now developing a Blade game in collaboration with Marvel. But a newly announced and promising game seems set to take up the torch.

A promising new game reminiscent of Dishonored

Developed by Push On and currently scheduled for an undetermined date on PC, Alkahest is said to be a mix of many particularly popular licenses. In addition to Dishonored, the studio says it wants to offer a worthy successor to Might & Magic’s excellent Dark Messiah, with a few inspirations from Kingdom Come Deliverance. An explosive and fascinating cocktail to say the least, which is presented here in the form of a visually impressive trailer to say the least.

We can take a first-person perspective in a dark fantasy universe. The character seems to be able to fight both with his weapons and by interacting with the environment. In particular, it will be possible to drop a tree on an opponent’s head, push him into the void or break through a fence with a well-aimed kick to create an opening for archery. The title should therefore give great importance to the creativity and inventiveness of the player.

The title also puts a certain emphasis on alchemy instead of magic, like a certain The Witcher 3. This will allow us to create oils, bombs, traps and other concoctions. Returning to the inspiration of Dishonored, the gameplay is focused exclusively on stealth and a more brutal approach seems feasible depending on the play style. Here is definitely a first-person RPG to watch out for, which at the moment is only planned for PC but does not have a concrete release date or window.
