Elden, Erdtree, find, Grace, Iris, Ring, Shadow

THE Iris of Grace is a rare, consumable item in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. While you can technically use it to activate the effects of your Great Rune (similar to how you can with Rune Arcs, for example), you’ll want to save the iris of grace use in one of Shadow of the Erdtree’s two side quests, as giving the Iris of Grace to other characters will reward you with special items.

In this guide we will tell you where to find the Iris of Grace (as there is only one that we know of at the time of writing), and What’s the pointSo read below to find out everything you need to know about this important item.

Where to find the Iris of Grace

The Iris of Grace is located in the Shadow Dungeon in Scadu Altus. You’ll likely encounter him after defeating his boss, Messmer the Impaler, as you head into the next area, Ancient Ruins of Rauh, but you can also find him at any time once you gain access to the Warehouse section of Shadow Keep and have activated the “Warehouse, First Floor” Grace Site.

Here is the exact location of the Iris of Grace on the map screen:

To find the Iris of Grace, head west from the Grace Site’Warehouse, first floor“, in the first corridor you see on your left. You may have to deal with the wizard’s shadows if you want to collect the Runic Bow on the corpse in there, but otherwise feel free to continue down the hallway until you come to an elevator.

Take the elevator down and head down the first hallway on the right. A Living Jar enemy will launch at you from the door on the left, so keep your guard up as you go. (You can also get the new Ash of War’Wall of Sparks‘ from the room where the Living Jar enemy comes from, so make sure to grab it before continuing).

You’ll reach a staircase leading to another room filled with living flesh creatures. If you want to take them out one by one, slowly bring them back up the stairs so they’re easier to deal with. Some of them will also vomit chunks of meat at you, so be careful when approaching them.

Follow the room to the next section and you’ll find more miniature pot monsters. These are a little easier to deal with, but keep your cool, as there are plenty of sleeping enemies here that can easily surprise you.

Before you head deeper into the Shadow Dungeon, stay in this room and face east. You’ll spot another Living Jar flesh monster behind you, and if you head all the way to the back of the room, you’ll find the Iris of Grace near an altar in darkness.

What is the Iris of Grace used for?

As mentioned above, the menu description for the Iris of Grace makes it sound exactly like a Rune Bow, in that you can consume it to activate any Great Rune you have equipped. But to get the most out of this rare item, under no circumstances should you consume Iris de Grace.

Instead, you’ll want to save it for two side quests In the shadow of the Erdtree:

  • Queelign Fire Knight Questline
  • Jolan’s Quest, the Sword of Night

As you progress enough through each of these characters’ quests, you will have the option to give them either a Iris of Grace or Iris of OccultationDepending on which iris you give them, you will get different rewards.

A warrior stands over the Fire Knight Queelign as he decides whether to give him an Iris of Grace or an Iris of Cloaking in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

It is important to note: even if there is only A Grace Iris item that you can collect, we have confirmed that you can still use it for both Quests. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about which quest you complete first, as you will always have the option to give the Iris of Grace to the second character once you get there.

Here’s what you can get from each character depending on which iris you give them:

Offer them the iris of grace: Give them the Iris of Occultation:
Fire Knight Queelign Queeline Spirit Ash Fire Knight Queelign Swordfish
Jolan, the sword hand of the night Swordhand of the Night Jolan Spirit Ash (with the possibility of transforming it into Jolan and Anna Spirit Ashes later). Sword of the Night

It’s important to choose which reward you want for each character here, as you can only give them an Iris once. It’s not possible to get both rewards in one playthrough here, so choose wisely!

That’s everything you need to know about the Iris of Grace in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Otherwise, if you prefer to obtain Queelign and Jolan’s weapons rather than their Spirit Ashes, read our guide on where to find the Iris of Occultation.
