Game News With the latest update, you can finally enjoy one of the best games of 2024 in good condition on consoles
After several technical difficulties, Dragon’s Dogma II is finally more user-friendly thanks to Capcom’s latest update.
The status of Dragon’s Dogma II on consoles improves
Published on 22 March Dragon’s Dogma II has been criticized by many players who criticized the technical aspect. Crashes, framerate drops, CPU overload, and many other issues have been mentioned by players whether they play on consoles or PCs. And while Capcom has solved some of these issues, the experience remains unstable, especially on PS5 and Xbox Series.
But Capcom is on the right track. The studio recently deployed a new update that once again aims to fix these problems. Thus, in the patch note published on the game’s website, we learn that the CPU overload issues that occurred in certain regions of the game have been resolved, an option to switch the graphics to High/Low has been added, and a 120 Hz mode has also been implemented. These last two features obviously only affect consoles.
According to Capcom, but also initial feedback, players should now experience fewer frame rate drops in the most densely populated areas of the game, such as large cities. In addition, the 120 Hz mode should make everything more stable, but “no guarantee of 120 frames/second” as Capcom notes.

With this patch, Capcom stays on track and seems to be on the right track. However, the studio is still taking a lot of time to improve the gaming experience, which is still not optimal three months after the game’s release. The studio nevertheless assures: “Further updates to improve the frame rate are planned for later“.
However, Capcom is also working to improve the background by fixing various bugs in the game. As the patch note indicates, this update fixes several problems related to the game’s quests and also improves the quality of life of players by implementing various features related in particular to the management of inventories and equipment, something that was particularly problematic when the software was launched. All these improvements are therefore gratifying, especially considering the quality of the title, which knows how to offer an entertaining experience as long as we can ignore all its shortcomings.
