It seemed like a long time coming, but NIS America announced today that Ys X: Nordics will finally make its western debut on the Switch October 25, 2024.
This occurs approximately one year after the last entry into the long-term study that The series arrived in Japan last September, but we’re excited to finally see it.
Ys X: The Norse will see you switch between two heroes, Adol and Karja, on a quest to save Obelia Gulf from the impending civil war. Some beautiful visuals accompany this story and, for the first time in the series, you’ll be able to take to the high seas with naval exploration and combat. Yikes
Here’s an official overview of the game’s features and a handful of screenshots from NIS America.
● Two heroes, one story: Bound by unexpected circumstances, the young adventurer Adol and the Norman pirate Karja must decide together the fate of Obelia Bay and its people.
● Cross action system: Alternate controlling Adol and Karja alone or together. Combine their unique powers to defeat enemies and build up the Revenge Gauge to unleash devastating attacks.
● Power of Mana: Use Mana’s unique abilities to overcome challenges. Grab and slide your way through dungeons, knock down obstacles, create new platforms and uncover hidden treasures and critical points.
● Sailor’s satisfaction: The sailing ship known as Sandras takes your exploration to a new level. Ocean travel, naval battles, and uncharted island discovery are all made possible by this seaworthy vessel.
Limited edition physical copies of the game are now available through the NIS America store for $104.99 (or your regional equivalent). These bundles include a copy of the game, soundtrack, mini art book, “sling bag” and more — what a way to see in its western debut, eh?
