There are many bosses for you to fight in Diablo 4. Some require defeating weaker enemies to collect the rare materials needed to spawn them, while others can be easily found in dungeons or at the end of quests.
However, there is one veteran boss who is known for his enduring habits. always Show up at the most inopportune times. We’re talking, of course, about The Butcher, the classic, intimidating boss who will ambush the player and appear without warning at any time.
However, Blizzard apparently decided he wasn’t a big enough threat, because now you can potentially run into a scarier version of him.

After a week of testing, the Diablo IV Season 5 PTR recently came to an end. Season 5 itself is still a few weeks away, but Blizzard wanted to get some changes and the new end-game activity into players’ hands as early as possible to gather feedback.
The changelog for this update isn’t nearly as big (or game-changing) as the pre-Season 4 PTR, but there’s still a lot to be excited about. Even seemingly small, undocumented changes, like the ability to toggle any and all combat text on or off, have already generated a lot of positive reactions.
However, before the end of the Season 5 PTR, players discovered one Other Undocumented Changes – This isn’t the kind of change that will please everyone. The Butcher is probably one of the most annoying bosses in Diablo IV, and has been terrorizing players since the game’s release.
Unlike most bosses, The Butcher can appear anywhere and at any time – including when you’re fighting another boss. The Butcher was a real threat until someone accidentally figured out that you could actually tell when you were about to encounter The Butcher. When players stopped being clever about killing him easily, they kept telling stories about giant versions of this monster, just in case the regular Butcher wasn’t exciting enough.
When season five begins, a new version of the Butcher will appear.
Content creator Rizarjay (via GamesRadar) is having some fun with Hell’s Horde, a new end-game campaign set in Hell. Hell’s Horde has some rogue-lite elements; letting players choose a boon and bane after each playthrough that helps them, but not without some sort of hindrance.
After choosing one of the three available options, Rizarjay is attacked by The Butcher, and it’s not the one you’d expect. As you can see in the clip above, it’s a new variant known as the Burning Butcher, which appears to have a spinning ring of fire around it, which certainly makes it more difficult to keep up the pressure.
Rizarjay’s Barbarian build is too powerful for Burning Butcher to pose any threat, but we can’t say the same for the others. It’s not clear at this point if this variant can spawn across the entire game world, or if it’s limited to the Hellfire Legion. We’ll find out when Season 5 kicks off early next month.
