Ichigo Kurosaki returns to consoles in a big way from Bandai Namco

No rumours, no surprises: as expected, Bandai Namco’s Summer Showcase served as a launching pad for the formal presentation of the new Bleach game, the successful manga and anime by Tite Kubo. A new project that comes on the heels of the new Pierrot anime and is in the hands of Tamsoft Corporation. And we won’t deny it, for fans of the shinigami it means a long-awaited reunion on consoles.

Under the name of Bleach Rebirth of SoulsIchigo Kurosaki’s return to desktop systems doesn’t deviate too much from other titles based on the saga, aiming to bring the excitement of anime combat to current systems by integrating epic swordplay and supernatural powers. The result? The first trailer for the game is already a declaration of intent.

Bandai Namco has already outlined a system in which the more desperate the situation of each character, the more powerful they will be during the game. What’s more, it is mentioned that at a given moment with a single attack we will be able to knock out the adversary and determine the result of the battle. Or be defeated.

As far as confirmed heroes and villains are concerned, we’ve been able to see Ichigo Kurosaki himself in action along with Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, Yasutora Sado (Chad to his friends) as well as Uryu Ishida and Byakuya Kuchiki, and although the total number of characters that the game will offer has not been specified, the extraordinary balance between the frenetic chambara duels and the epicness of the special techniques with cinematic sequences is clear.

On the other hand, we still have to see how it holds up in terms of gameplay, the visual section and the finishes of its characters are already looking to compete head-on with the anime itself: the first official screenshots seek and succeed in hitting the mark with fans of the television series.

Bleach Rebirth of Souls It strengthens the Japanese company’s brutal legacy of fighting games based on Shonen Jump hits. And despite the fact that the franchise has never strayed too far from video games, although the latest proposals have come directly to mobile phones or have focused on Free to Play formulas, the truth is that a lot has happened since the Bleach: Soul Resurrection from the now defunct Japan Studio. A title that, by the way, arrived on PS3 no less than 13 years ago.

Bandai Namco has bet big and hard on fighting in 2024. It started the year with Tekken 8, plans to win over Son Goku fans with Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero and we may have another Shonen JUMP blockbuster in a matter of months: Bleach Rebirth of Souls It will be available soon (no dates given) and will offer online and offline multiplayer combat on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S and PC, being officially open Steam pageUntil further notice, sharpen your sword blade.
