Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train made huge money at the box office, so of course the series will end with three more movies.
The release of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was perhaps a flash in the pan. The film was released in Japan in October 2020, when competition wasn’t as fierce due to the coronavirus pandemic and people were allowed to go out (even though they probably shouldn’t have). This made it the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, earning over 40 billion yen, almost a full 10 billion yen more than the previous record holder, Spirited Away (which, mind you, was released in 2021). It was therefore no surprise that after the final episode of the season, the official Demon Slayer Twitter account shared that the manga’s final episode would be covered by a trilogy of films.
This news will likely be welcomed by many fans of the series, as Mugen Train is also a big deal in the West, and it also comes with a trailer, which you can check out above. It doesn’t show a whole lot, but it clearly hints at the final installment in the series, Infinity Castle. Crunchyroll and Sony have also announced that they have acquired all three films for a worldwide theatrical release (except in certain Asian territories and Japan). Release dates have yet to be confirmed, and it’s unclear how soon after these films will be released, but we can probably expect them in late 2025 or early 2026 at the latest.

Demon Slayer season 1 aired in 2019, followed by Mugen Train the Movie in 2020. It has since had three more seasons, as well as a couple of other movies (To the Swordsmith Village and To the Hashira Training), though those were just compilation movies with some footage from the then-upcoming season tacked on at the end.
