Xbox Series S at the top of sales.
It’s not very common to know the sales figures for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. (after all, Microsoft hasn’t officially shared them in years), but thanks to Famitsu, it looks like these consoles have reached another milestone in Japan.
Japanese media reported this week that the two Xbox consoles have reached around 600,000 sales in total.with the Xbox Series S leading the way with 315,431 units. It should be noted that these are “estimated” numbers:
Xbox Series X: 285,014 units
Xbox Series S: 315,431 units
If you look at the lifetime sales of the PS5 (over 5 million) and Nintendo Switch (over 30 million), the above numbers may seem disappointing. It’s worth noting, however, that Microsoft has only sold slightly more 100,000 Xbox One consoles in Japan over the lifetime of the console and The Xbox 360 ended with about 1.6 million sales.
This latest generation represents a huge improvement over the previous one, but there’s obviously still work to be done in Japan from an Xbox perspective.
