It was an open secret and we already have official confirmation. New original and exclusive film for Apple TV+ focused on Formula 1. It will not be a documentary format, even if it will be partly inspired by real events since it was filmed during several races organized in recent years and is even produced by Lewis Hamilton.
Its protagonist will be the famous Brad Pitt in what will be his first film on Apple TV+, in the role of a former Formula 1 driver who returns to the grid after several years of retirement. The film will be released in theaters worldwide and, as usual, can then be seen on Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ movie gets green light
Briton Lewis Hamilton is having a happy week after taking first place at Silverstone after almost 60 races without getting close. As for projects outside his car, he will also be able to show these weeks the project created with Apple TV+, Warner, Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Plan B Entertainment, since he will be producer of “F1: The Movie”the working title of the new Apple TV+ movie.
This will be released in theaters worldwide on June 25, 2025. So there’s about a year left to see it, although we already have several previews of what this new original film will be, which months later can only be seen on Apple TV+. The Formula 1 organization itself is also participating.
Everything will revolve around the character played by Brad Pitt, who After years away from the circuits, he returns to competition with APXGPa fictional team. In his team, he will have to live and compete with the character of Damson Idris, another of the protagonists of this long-awaited film.
Besides these two actors, other well-known faces such as those of Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Shara Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. Joseph Kosinski, who recently worked with Pitt on “Top Gun: Maverick,” is directing.
Apple TV+ has been keen to point out that the film will also reach IMAX cinemas, characterized by the highest and best image and sound resolution to enjoy an experience in which both elements will be essential. Of course, for now there is no arrival date for Apple TV+, probably because it is not yet known how many weeks it will be available in theaters.
